Screenshots

The Screenshots section shows the screenshots you took and reads the text in them with on-device OCR (Apple's Vision), so Search can find a screenshot by what it says.

• Shelf looks for new screenshots only while this section is open. It does not watch your disk in the background.
• Search reads only the OCR results already stored, so searching never rescans your files.
• Settings › Automations › Automatic OCR on screenshots reads new screenshots as they are found.

Nothing is uploaded. The text recognition runs on your Mac.
