Calls and calendar

You're on air

When an app opens your microphone or camera, the notch says so, and which app it is.

• The microphone icon mutes it. ⌥ ⇧ M does the same from anywhere.
• The camera icon opens the camera mirror, to check how you look.

The mute works on the device, for every app at once. Zoom or Meet may still show your mic as open in their own window, but nothing goes through; the notch is the one telling the truth.

Turn the indicator off in Settings › Privacy › Show microphone and camera on the island.

The next meeting

With the Calendar permission, the notch counts down to your next meeting, and Home shows today's agenda. Shelf reads the calendar when it needs to; it does not poll it.

If the invite has a video link (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Webex), the countdown becomes Join: one click opens the call. The same button appears next to the event on Home.
